New member Username: Ultra57Post Number: 1 Registered: Sep-05 | Will the JL E2150 work with components that are 110 RMS and 180 PEAK. Rainbow 6.5 They are 4ohm and I need to know if this AMP will be good and how to wire it ? |
New member Username: Ultra57Post Number: 2 Registered: Sep-05 | I got this NEW amp for some JL XR series but I'm upgrading to some Rainbows like my friends Dad. Cant afford a different AMP any help greatly appreciated |
New member Username: Ultra57Post Number: 4 Registered: Sep-05 | No AMP experts online that can help out. I suppose I can contact JL or Rainbow and ask but was hoping for a quicker bit of advise to my situation. |

Gold Member Username: CarguyPost Number: 4418 Registered: Nov-04 | That is a weak amp. For starters, it's only 45w rms @ 4ohms and 75w @ 2ohms. Most components are 4ohms. Other than that, it's a good amp. Discard the peak power ratings. Not useful at all. The good news is, even though it may be only 45w rms, it'll still sound much better than stock HU. |
New member Username: Ultra57Post Number: 8 Registered: Sep-05 | Ya my friend thought it was borderline and maybe not a good fit. Will it work without hurting the speakers or AMP or do I need to try and upgrade through JL for a different one ? My friend wasn't sure how to hook them up as well on the E2150 appreciate your help here |
Gold Member Username: CarguyPost Number: 4420 Registered: Nov-04 | It will work just fine. What kind of connection problem are you having? It's a straight forward amp. Nothing special. I can't get hold of that amp's manual so I can't walk through with you. If you can post pictures of the connectors, I am sure I can find out what goes where. |
New member Username: Ultra57Post Number: 9 Registered: Sep-05 | I'm not the AMP guy at all he is to be honest. He just wasnt sure on how to physically hook up from the speakers to the amp correctly I believe. His Dad has the Rainbows which I screwed everything up wanting them. This AMP and the JL XR's were recommended through JL. I just want to use this amp if I can. He actually has the amp with him so I cant even desribe anything to you. |

Bronze Member Username: Ultra57Post Number: 13 Registered: Sep-05 | Hooking up the RCA's was a problem Isaac. Have a amp and sub in there now and deck has (1) set of pre-outs ? |
Gold Member Username: CarguyPost Number: 4423 Registered: Nov-04 | That's all you need unless the rca preouts are for subs. The amp has rca input and output. The input is for your deck, and the output is for 2nd amp. It also has high level input for cutting into your speaker wires. Not as good as rca, so use that as your last choice. For frequency filter, set it to HP or off. |
