Can someone help me find a high output alternator for a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a Jl 1000/1 and two w6v2 12's.

You're lucky. There's a lot of places that carry Chrysler HO alts. I've got a Scion and cant find one for less than 650$

Nathan from excessiveamperage.com has a good reputation on this board, but he's not been available for the last few weeks. (someone please correct me if I'm wrong!) Possibly due to Hurricane Katrina (he's in Alabama).
I'm actually trying to contact him to get a quote for an alt, but to no avail.

Try www.h-o-alternators.com or just google "HO alternator" You'll come up with more results you can shake a stick at.


PS. Have you installed everything yet? It's possible that you won't need one. SUVs usually have pretty beefy alts to begin with. However, I'm no expert when it comes to electrical systems.

i just got mine from alterstart.. 165 shipped for a 165amp... Grand Cherokee .. 98 4.0L... That should be enough... but they have a 205amp also, for a little more $$$ of course

they're on ebay too!.. but I called and he shipped next day.

I got a kit from Nathan for 160amp alternator $125 shipped. Should have just bought the stator though... cuz I could have gotten the other stuff cheaper.

100+your current alternator's amps = new alternator amp output.
