Repairing a blown sub

I blew my alpine r sub. I beleieve its the voicecoils. How do i get to them, and is it worth fixing, and how do i do it. Im not planning on using this sub anymore, but i would like to try to repair it. thanks

Send it in. It it's blown, then of course it's the voice coils. You can get recone kits for certain subs, but it's usually big spl comp subs. It's not easy to correctly repair one even if you do have a new coil and cone.

haha no problem. I just bought 2 new ones last night for my birthday. Not too bad, i got brand new 2005's 2 +2's for $240. That was the first year model sub, and it was going anyways. One VC blew before the other, and then i just used it with one until it died. I'll give her a proper burial in my shed tomorrow.
