I posted this in the speaker section and it got deleted so I will put it here
If an 8 inch midbass and a 5 1/4 inch midrange speaker were both installed in a door, would that be a problem? My concern was cancelation because they share air as well as overall imaging.
I need to get both of these speakers up front somehow, and putting them both in the door or putting the 8 in the door and the 5 1/4 in a kick pod are my only options (I think). The kick pod idea does not look so good because of the e-brake being in the way, so I want to try to make the door idea work.

Another idea of mine...put the 5 1/4s on the dash facing the driver / passenger in a custom made enclosure. Never seen it done before.
