Unregistered guest | I'm new at subs for cars. I think i've settled on one 12in pioneer ts-w306dvc. going to make a box for it, just not sure what type. I listen to mostly pop music, containing drum bass. The small door speaks don't put out the kind of bass im looking for. So the sub would be puting out from about 80Hz and lower. Ok, so should I go though the extra troble and incressed size of a ported box. I guess I would make one if it would make the bass alot punchier or other wise "better". |

tyler lough Unregistered guest | its 0.48 for the dvc and 0.42 for the single coil. they recommend 1.25cuft for sealed. What would it do to the sound, like clearness, if I made the box smaller or larger than recommended. for ported size it reconnends 1.65 cuft. |
tyler lough Unregistered guest | also is the ts-w306dvc the best sub for around $70 or are there better subs for the same price. |

I have a pair of those & i must insist that u build a PORTED box for it using the REC volume of 1.65cu.ft . I just answered all the details on this in another thread titled 'yo rovin' https://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/161494.html |

But it was only about 1.25cuft per sun. I switched to a ported 3 cuft. ported and made them sound so much better. Getting ready to put thim in a 5.5cuft ported box. But seriously go with the ported you will be amazed. |
tyler lough Unregistered guest | Ok guys thank you much. That is what i'll get a 305 or 306 and make a 1.65cuft box tuned between 30 and 40Hz. I'm too cheap to buy a box. One more thing how big of amp do I need to get the most out of the sub. |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 576 Registered: Jul-05 | Well 305 is the older model that does 400wrms - 800w max Newr 306 model does 400wrms - 1000 w max . $55 online If its only 1 sub then http://sonicelectronix.com/item_3733.html & wire the sub @ 2ohms Build your own box with 1" MDF which has better properties than common 3/4" . Use the box building/tuning calculators here www.the12volt.com |
tyler lough Unregistered guest | ok that looks like a good amp except for the price, my dad would never let me spend that much for anamp. I'm only 17 and they tell me what I can buy even though it's my money. |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 585 Registered: Jul-05 | I admire how u honestly u said that - lol Well this then http://sonicelectronix.com/item_3490.html but u will have to buy the dual 2ohms model fro this amp to power it enough . |
tyler lough Unregistered guest | well am ready buying the sub and wires at cardomain.com so how about this one. http://www.cardomain.com/item/JBLCS2001Z and a http://www.cardomain.com/item/PIOTSW256DVCO because its cheaper and is most likly punchier. |
