How do you break-in subwoofers ??
Set the gain low ?
Play some music on low volumes ?
How long do they have to break in ?

Its about 2 Alpines Type X SWX-1242D!

Thanks!

Always set the gain properly.

Just keep the volume turned down for a couple days. Break in's really aren't necessary, but it's not a bad idea either.

subs often won't sound right until they've been broken in.. the response and color of the subs changes after proper break in, so you may not like them much right at first but wait till a good 20 hours of use before deciding for sure.

Yeah, after you've been using a sub for a couple weeks you'll notice it sounds better. You don't reallly realize it, but when you think about it, it does. It's also good to take it easy on them for the first while because they're nrad new and still a little stiff. The suspension will loosen up some after a while.

BTW, if you do smell a strange odor the first time you play them for a while, it could just be excess glue burning off the vc's, and nothing serious. Lots of people say they're subs smell for the first while, but most don't know why.

Allow me to correct your English , i know it's a casual forum but i must still let you know the right way .

There're is equal to saying THERE ARE so your sentence means to someone reading it 'Lots of people say they are subs smell for the first while' . We all knew what you meant by the way .

It's also a common mistake people make when saying you're & your . You're is equal to saying you are & should not be used in a sentence such as "you're music system sound good" .

Please do not get angry at me for pointing this out .

Lol. I know all the subs I've had get a little louder and sound better. I had an Eclipse 6123 that wasn't loud at all. I was upset, and threw it in my work car. After about four days I cranked it up, and I litterally thought someone had changed out the sub and I didn't know it!

I love strawberry yogurt!
