Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 04:57 GMT it depends. a 15" will generally get lower b/c of the increased area pushing the air necessary for low hz. by the same token, some 12" out do some 15" partially b/c of (some of) their considerably greater excursion. again, greater area yields a lesser excursion required to reach an identical output. 12" are typically more punchy that 15".

Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 05:00 GMT thanks for the quick reply!! so if I had 2 15" subs w/ 300 rms each do you think they would have some bass to it? I only had 1 system before and that was a rf 451s amp pushing a 400w pioneer 12" sub and that thing had some bass to it!!!

Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 05:16 GMT yes, they will definitely be louder than one 12" pioneer with 400w.

Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 15:16 GMT Depends on the sub. You'd be underpowering each 12 by 100W. I' rather have 1 sub that's properly powered. But again, it would depend on the sub.

Wednesday, September 14, 2005 - 19:53 GMT Its a good idea to have your amp a bit bigger say 1000 if u need only 800wrms - reason is the bigger amp will run cooler & play cleaner cause it does not have to work @ maximum capacity to power the subs .
