My Rockford Fosgate amp stopped working. I found that during another installation, my RCA got a small cut in it. After replacing the RCA, the amp now turns on, but only faint static comes out of the speakers. Any ideas what the problem is?

my amplifier keeps going out the wires are hooked up fine my speakers play some and they stop what u think it is
