Silver Member Username: HellbenderWinnetka, California USA Post Number: 168 Registered: Apr-05 | currently I am running a jbl px300.4 to my comps and while I like this setup I find it lacking a little power sometimes so I want to upgrade to a more powerful amp while still maintaining at least the same but preferably more SQ. how does the PG xenon 200.2 stack up against my jbl? Any ideas on any other 200 watt rms x2 amps for around $300? thanks, |

Silver Member Username: HellbenderWinnetka, California USA Post Number: 169 Registered: Apr-05 | yes, that would be the amp....hmm, I see that PG is in two seperate sections, so is this particular model as good as my jbl amp? If not then any other ideas on amps at least in the good section of that list that produce 200 watts rms x 2 channels? thanks guys |
Silver Member Username: RovinTrinidad & T... Post Number: 406 Registered: Jul-05 | Well A.H - both brands are good cause i asked the gold members last wk when i was shopping around for a 4channel amp . I ended up going with an Alpine which BTW is in the same bracket as those 2 . How about this this in the highly rec section .... http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13476 the PG is good cause no matter what the load/ohms it still puts out 200wrms |
Silver Member Username: Riebread77Post Number: 615 Registered: Jun-05 | with that sale...I'd go PG...the 100.2 is the same price as the 200.2...i'd go 200.2 for the price |
Silver Member Username: HellbenderWinnetka, California USA Post Number: 170 Registered: Apr-05 | yeah I may go with the PG, I would like the orion instead, I found it on ebay for 252.00 but it only has upto 5 volt input. I am getting the pioneer premier 860 which has 6.5 volt preouts. do you guys think that is too much of a difference in sensitivity? |
Bronze Member Username: XkawnPost Number: 100 Registered: Jul-05 | i have a premier deck with the 6.5 volt out and a soundstream xta480.4 for my highs and mids. the soundstream is 4.5 volt max input. i have no problems. |
Silver Member Username: Riebread77Post Number: 619 Registered: Jun-05 | just can't crank up the volume all the way...could lead to frying...I'd still get the PG...more flexibility than JL slash as it ranges from 1 ohm-4ohms not 1.5-4...solid amplifier and for that price, you can't beat it...they are also underrated according to the birthsheet by much. |
Clownass Unregistered guest | I am with Ryan, go for the PG. Better yet, go for the old school PG, if you can get it. Awesome stuff. If not, get the Xenon. |

Silver Member Username: Basshead86Ocala, FL USA Post Number: 971 Registered: Aug-05 | still doesn't make much sense though. lol |
Clownass Unregistered guest | Spanish does not translate word for word. Here is what I said: Do you speak spanish? I looks like you do. Why do you want me to register? What is wrong with not being registered? I kinda like not being registered. I don't want you guys to see how many posts I have, and that is why I don't want to register. lol It may sound a bit odd, but it makes perfect sence in spanish. Just being sarcastic. I just havent had a need to register and thus havent made a priority of it. |

Silver Member Username: HellbenderWinnetka, California USA Post Number: 172 Registered: Apr-05 | I did alot of research on amps and after careful thought have decided on one of these three amps. 1. phoenix gold xenon x200.2 200 wrms x2 $193 2. diamond audio d5600.2 150 wrms x2 $195 3. mb quart raa2400 200 wrms x2 $250 which one would you guys choose out of these three and why? Thanks for all the opinions so far! |
New member Username: ClownassPost Number: 3 Registered: Sep-05 | I would go for the PG. I like Diamond Audio's speakers, but not their amps. Same w/ MB Quart. MBQ amps are, as far as I have heard, just like Fosgate amps, which arnt that good. PG makes good solid amps. Granted, they arn't what they used to be, but still better than Fosgate, MBQ and Diamond as far as amps go. |
Silver Member Username: Riebread77Post Number: 624 Registered: Jun-05 | I would go with PG because its the best value. It offers the most flexibility so you could change your setup easily. Even if you wanted to run 2 pairs of components on each channel, you could, because you'll still get 100 watts to each speaker by running them in paralell and drop the impedence down to 2 ohms. The flexibility is the biggest thing, because you can then use it many years down the road...make sure you buy it with a warranty. |
