In the hope achieving a warm and natural sound reproduction, I purchased an Alpine HU as well as 17 cm MB Quart Discus series component type loudspeakers which were fitted on the front doors of my Citroen Xsara hatchback. Though irrelevant, there is a 200W Infinity Bass Link X active subwoofer in the trunk. The bass output is overemphasized unless manually limited to a modest level. As for the highs, though many people claim MB Quart is a renowned producer of tweeters, I found them too synthetic or metallic to be exact. How can I turn this system into a warmer and more natural set up. Should I replace the tweeters with silk ones. The mids do not cut it either; they lack character. Do you think the component system should be fed by a stand alone amplifier rather than the built in amp of the Alpine HU which is dubiosly labeled as 4x45W?
