Yellow tops take longer to charge but can be completely discharged without damage. Red tops have a longer warranty and are supposed to last longer. Blue tops have a blue top. |

I destroyed a red top battery in about 3 weeks, with a 200 amp alternator, to boot.. (Drawing about 4000 RMS in my firebird) The alternator keeps it charged fine, except at stoplights.. (alt kicks on at 900rpm), and it would drop it fast enough to damage it I guess. Anyways, I returned it just didnt tell the guys there was even a problem with the battery at pepboys.. got a pair of yellow tops now and I'm much happier. |

There's a guy on another car audio forum who claimed he sold Optima batteries for years and just recently dropped them for a brand by the name of Kinetic. He says that Optima batteries are almost junk now days. Anyone know anything about this Kinetic brand? |
