My infinity kappa perfects 6.1 have been working fine. Then yesterday I was listening to them and the tweeter on the right side kept cutting out. I took it home and took the door apart and now it has no sound at all. The mids work but no tweeter. Any ideas what could be wrong. They weren't clipped, not underpower, or overpowered. At first I thought I had a bad wire but I bypassed my connection. Unless its the wiring in the tweeter itself I'm lost.
Get a DMM and measure the resistance on the tweeter. If the VC is not blown, you should get a reading of 4ohms. If you do, then the fault is not with the tweeter physically. Make sure you bypass the capacitor to get the reading.
infinity speakers have the push on terminals between the tweeters and the crossover. Make sure they aren't touching each other causing a short. Thats all I can think of. Blown tweeters make funny noises, so i doubt thats it...
