Porting rear deck

Is putting a port in my rear deck going to drastically increase spl? It would technically make my trunk like a 6th order bandpass since I have a 2 12 ported box. I want to put a 6" round port in.
A cool idea on paper, but is practical?
Does anyone has experience with this?
