New member Username: SlidePost Number: 1 Registered: Mar-04 | I have an old Rockwood 200watt amplifier pushing two 8inch kicker Comp 8c's. The amplifier doesn't have a built in Crossover so I plan on buying a FMOD Low pass inline filter.... ... but there are a ton of different kinds. 50 HZ, 100 HZ, 500 HZ etc etc. Which one would make sense to purchase for this setup? I just want to get rid of the Mid's and Highs coming through the Subs, but I don't understand the HZ measurment. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Stupid old equipment... |

I know what you mean about the amp, but I've been using it for 7 years. heh... I bought it used so I wouldn't be surprised if the thing was close to 10 years old. It still does it's job without much complaint. One day I'll get something better to push the Comps. |

Gold Member Username: GlasswolfNorthWest, Michigan USA Post Number: 1638 Registered: Dec-03 | Hertz are cycles per second. a measure of frequency. didn't you take science in school? 60 to 80Hz is about where you go from subs, to mid-bass. if you cross over the subs any higher than 80Hz, you'll start to hear vocals in them, and they'll begin to sound muddy, and not as tight or hard hitting. |
