Hey guys, I'm kind of a newbie on higher end audio equipment but I was wondering, can all (or most) amps accept 4 volt pre outs from the head unit?
Specifically I have an Alpine MRP-M350 (mono amp) and a little MTX 282 2 ch thunder amp that will eventually be wired to the front two speakers in parallel for 90 watts/speaker. I'm worried about the MTX being able to accept a 4Volt preout. . .
just about any decent amplifier can handle a 4V line in. the only exceptions are very old amplifiers.. some amps from the early 90s or earlier weren't made for 4V lines.. then you just need to watch your head unit volume, since 4V is at full volume.. you'd just need to not run it to full to keep the line voltage lower.
