Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 29 Registered: Jul-05 | would a JL e1400d be a good amp to power my SE10? the amp is 400 watts rms at 2ohms |
Bronze Member Username: QuickshotCharlotte, North Carolina U.S. Post Number: 44 Registered: Aug-05 | itll be ok since the amp is probably a little underrated although i would go with something a little more powerful since the SE takes 600rms and those RE subs can take more wattage than their rms FREE QUICK SHOT, ICE, AND CHRIS |
Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 30 Registered: Jul-05 | what about a 500/1 or a 1800d? |
Bronze Member Username: QuickshotCharlotte, North Carolina U.S. Post Number: 47 Registered: Aug-05 | the 1800d might be a little too much but if you watch your gains then youll be ok and that 500/1 would be perfect |
Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 31 Registered: Jul-05 | but the problem is that i need a cheap pricetag or its not going to happen... the 500/1 is just to much and the 1800d is to big to fit on my amp rack. will running my sub with the 1400d and underpowering it a lttle hurt my SE in any way? |
Bronze Member Username: QuickshotCharlotte, North Carolina U.S. Post Number: 50 Registered: Aug-05 | of course not...underpowering a sub will not hurt it at all as long as you dont turn the gain up in order to compensate for the power shortage also what is your budget so maybe i can find a good and cheaper alternative and are you comfortable using ebay? |
Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 32 Registered: Jul-05 | yea ill use ebay . im lookin to spend under $300. i know thats not alot, but thats my amp budget |

Bronze Member Username: QuickshotCharlotte, North Carolina U.S. Post Number: 63 Registered: Aug-05 | never heard of audio amps and it looks like youll be underpowering it anyways...but US Amps are probably better built than the Kicker and Orion i reccomended although both of those are still good amps |

Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 34 Registered: Jul-05 | is that a quality amp with great sound quality and true power ratings at 12.5volts? |
Bronze Member Username: JronPost Number: 65 Registered: Jul-05 | yes it is a quality amp, and it is usually underrated. mine puts out 640 watts @ 2ohms 14.4v, instead of the 600. and you are going to draw more than 12.5 volts, i currently draw mid to upper 13's on a stock. it should push your se just fine man, and sound good. not the best, but it is a good quality, digitized amp. good bang for your buck, it pushed my type r 12 just fine. |
Bronze Member Username: JronPost Number: 66 Registered: Jul-05 | by the way how does your se sound? I was pondering about replacing my type r with their se sub. RE seems to get all the rave when it comes to subwoofers, let me know when you get yours hooked up. |
Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 35 Registered: Jul-05 | right now i have mine hooked up to a no name amp prob pushing out 400 watts rms in a custom sealed box and it sounds amazing!! it obliterates my cousins 10w3v2 and it still sounds good with the no name amp! |
Bronze Member Username: JronPost Number: 67 Registered: Jul-05 | really? how much do those run man. and what about the sx? |

Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 40 Registered: Jul-05 | the sx is not a SQ sub! |
Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 41 Registered: Jul-05 | its definantly an spl sub which sometimes gets louder than the xxx |
Bronze Member Username: JronPost Number: 68 Registered: Jul-05 | so do you have good sq/spl combo with that sub? I've just been kind of shaky about buying from re because I hear they are kind of hard to get a hold of. I'm on a one sub set-up myself, an alpine type-r, i'm impressed with it, but want something a little better. Have you heard the alpine type-r? and how does it compare to your re-se. |
Bronze Member Username: Ishkabobble55Post Number: 42 Registered: Jul-05 | ive personally never heard the type-r but im guessing that it would get higher spl numbers than mine, but not to much higher. mine prob has better sq and it gets plenty loud for me. if i am ever going to upgrade it will be to 1 or 2 more SE's. if i were to compare to JL i would say more powerful than the w3v2 series and better sq, and slightly less powerful than the w6v2 series with around the same sq. |
Bronze Member Username: JronPost Number: 75 Registered: Jul-05 | yeah man i am really leaning towards that se. i've heard nothing but good things about re man. plus it would fit perfectly with my alpine amp. just want to be positive that it's going to sound better and hit harder than my type r. |
Silver Member Username: ChriskleinPost Number: 123 Registered: Aug-05 | I got my Zapco 500.1 from a seller on ebay for only 275 shipped. You just have to find a guy that has the right connections like me. Do a little searching around, you might be able to find one. |
