Why do Amplifiers clip? and how could i avoid / reduce that?

Clipping is when it stop working for a small portion of a second right?

Why does it happen? how is it caused for?

How could I possible avoid that?

no. clipping is when the amplifier's power supply is incapable of supplying enough power to create a clean sinewave signal, so the peaks of the AC voltage are "clipped" off and become DC voltage.
This is caused a number of ways. Too little current from the alternator or batteries, gain set too high and overdriving the amplifier, etc.
the result is DC voltage being sent to the speakers, which prevents the motor structures from properly cooling the voice coils. Then, then coils heat up too much, and melt, damaging the speakers.
