hey guys. i need to make a box today and have one quick question. is the port volume still apart of the total box volume. like the space in the port does that still count as part of the box volume. thanks
Nooo... the port and driver displacement is seperate from the box size.
The easiest way I do this, is design an internal box size and tuning frequency. Then come up with 2 constant dimensions, and leave 1 dimension variable. Then figure out what size your port will be. Figure out the port size in cubic ft. and figure out what your driver displacement is. This would be (internal box size + driver(s) displacement + port displacement) = Z
You then use the formula (Z * 1728) / (1st dimension - 1.5) = X
You then take X / (2nd dimension - 1.5) = Y
Y = (3rd dimension + 1.5)
**Note - 1.5 is your end correction using .75" MDF

well it might be ok...i was goin to use two 15" tempests...i was shootin for 4 cubic feet...and now its closer to 3.5 or so...could this work yet
