Chea Unregistered guest | I am really new and dumb when it comes to car audio. And I know nothing about amps. Here is what I have tho. I have 2 "Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1" and I need an amp to power them. Each sub has a Power Handling of 350W RMS. and power handling peak at 1400W and Impedance of 4 Ohms. so I need an amp that can give each sub around 350W - 400W, 4ohms impendance and I am willing to pay about $350. Any suggestions? I was looking at an MTX amp but not sure if it would be good. So hopefully you guys can find me something to do. I get my gear off of onlinecarstereo.com or millionbuy.com. If you found an amp there that would be amazing but that is not important to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! And any other suggestions would be appreciated. |
Chea Unregistered guest | an deoes anyone know where I could possibly buy an infinity amp for cheap? One that would power those subs? I can never really find infinity amps online. |

Chea Unregistered guest | yeah, I looked a little. I did not find anything that I am too interested in. I am not big on buying car audio gear off ebay... |

Chea Unregistered guest | I do not know for sure but because my subs says 4ohms impendance, does that mean I need an amp that will push them both at 300W at 4 impendance? that alpine mrd-m605 looks great except it's 600W at 2ohms and 300W at 4ohms... Wouldn't I need an amp that is 600W at 4ohms? sorry for the questions and I hope that made sense. I am still trying to figure out how an amp works and what I need to have to buy it. |

Bronze Member Username: JronPost Number: 46 Registered: Jul-05 | if they are single 4ohm voice coils you can wire the 2 subs to represent a 2ohm load to the amp, therefore giving you 600@ 2 ohms, plus when i got my alpine it was rated at 640. |
Chea Unregistered guest | I am not even sure where to find out. I would check the subs instructions and junk but I do not even have the subs with me. They are at my friends house (he installs everything). The only information I have on them is from this link here - http://www.infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId='KAPPA+PERFECT12.1'&Ser=KAP&Cat=SUB |
Chea Unregistered guest | damn that link is not working.. just copy this whole thing and paste it. it wont let you click on the whole thing for some reason http://www.infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId='KAPPA+PERFECT12.1'&Ser=KAP&Cat=SUB |
Chea Unregistered guest | would this amp work to power my 2 subs and sound good? http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14131 |
Chea Unregistered guest | man, I feel bad for so many posts... but would you say this one would work too http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13288 I think this may be the real deal to power two of my subs. What do you think? |
Bronze Member Username: JronPost Number: 48 Registered: Jul-05 | those are 4 ohms so you should be able to wire them to represent a 2ohm load. kicker, alpine, some phoenix gold, jl, jbl, are all good amps. find a mono amp that can push 600 watts @ 2 ohms. |
Bronze Member Username: BrynmPrince Albert, SK Canada Post Number: 40 Registered: Jul-05 | That Phoenix Gold one would work or this Hifonics http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14803 to hook up as a 2 ohm load wire this way http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp?WoofQty=2+woofers&WoofImp =Single+Voice+Coil+-+4+ohms&image.x=18&image.y=6 |
Chea Unregistered guest | alright thanks a lot guys for the help. the help is greatly appreciated. |
