Are horns any good?

whats up with horns. I've heard good things about Image Dynamics comp horns but you don't see much of them around. I've also heard they suck what's your take?

They don't suck. There are quirks to horns, and they can give excellent results, but typically require Eq (1/3 octave EQs) to get the tonality right. I recommend you look at the tutorial on elite car audio. Here's the link:

One major benefit of a horn for car audio is sensitivity. Many are over 100db for 1W/1M, and can take a good amount of power. I've seen competitors that hit in the 120s just off of their front stage when horns are involved :-) Horns are very dynamic and have a good bit lower distortion than conventional drivers.
