New member Username: DirtydognzPost Number: 4 Registered: Mar-04 | hi guys, does the brand of the AMP matter much when it comes to powering subs cause its only mono, secondly i have purchased a Pioneer TS-W304C 12" carpated Boxed Sub i belive rated 200 W RMS and i have 2 options use a sony 222W amp rated output of 80W x 1 RMS ( i have been told that using better cables can give upto 140 W RMS, is this a myth?) and my second option is a Reactor RA602 600 WATT 2 CHANNEL AMPLIFIER http://www.justamps.com/Amp_Pages/Reactor/reactor_ra.htm which one should i use???? |
Silver Member Username: TboneOK United States Post Number: 235 Registered: Feb-04 | Using larger cables means less resistance, which means your amplifier isn't taxed as much and could pass a larger current, but I seriously doubt that it would jump from 80w to 140w. As far as the picking between the sony and reactor, what is the rms output of the reactor? |
