A friend of mine has a MTX 801D Amp running to two 12" MTX dvc subs wired to a 4 ohm load. Every now and then it stops working or cuts to about half the normal power. Once it melted the speaker wire, but there wasn't a bad connection or short. I talked to an audio specialist about it and he said it was the MTX internal capacitor. I was wondering if this was true or if anyone else had a similar problem. Thanks
