lol your amp is about 200 watts... rms power probably.. if it really is 5000 watts then that would be prolly around a 2000 rms output... and im kinda figuring you dont have a h/o alternator.. seeing that you actually bought a amp like that.. plus cutting out 10' boxes to fit a 12 in it will result in nothing but very sloppy bass because those perimeters...

No it doesent go into protection, i have the 4 gauge wire goin from battery to amp and what ever kind of speaker wire was on the sony's. The subs are 2000 watt peak power but dont hit at all really my 2 8's on my comp stereo hits the more or the equivalent to them im just really frustrated i spent 700 dollars on all of it and they are crap from what i have seen

highlt overrated. I was reading something that starting in 2006 they are gonna make every amp company have to rate their amps the same way wether it be at 12.5 volts or at 14.4 volts so that will put a large damper on all these garbage companies that give max ratings to screw newbie's into buying their cr@p!

Havin 12's in an enclosure built for 10's might have something to do with it.

Good luck getting 1500 watts of power with a mere 75 amps current. You'd need a 20 volt system and 100% efficient amp to get that without blowing those fuses.

Still say the problem is your enclosure however. Build one to Audiobahn specs. I can just about guarantee your present enclosure doesn't have sufficient airspace for those 12's.

I don't know how big your old box is, but I'd guess "yeah".
