Ok the following is what my system consists of and i havent installed all of it yet.
Eclipse CD8454
Image Dynamics CXS 62 chamoleon componants
PPI white art 300.2
2 JL 12w6v2's sealed vs. 1 12w6v2 ported at 1.5 cu ft tuned to 32hz vs. 1 Avalanche 15 sealed at 1.5 cu ft. ?
CrossFire VR1000D mono class D amplifier puts out 1000 rms at 12.5 volts and upto 1332 at around 13-14 V, 1000 x 1 @ 1 ohm and 500 x 1 @ 2 ohm / also have a Zapco 500M mono amp that is 500 x 1 @ 4 ohm and 700 x 1 @ 2 ohm but i dont think i can use it with the JL sub or the Avalanche 15.
I have all of this in my house ready to put to use. IM looking for a overall good SQL install. Let me know what you can suggest. Thanks
Nevermind you were right glasswolf. I can wire the 2 12w6v2's down to 1 ohm so it can match the crossfire vr1000d. That will be 1000 x 1 @ 1 ohm. I have the 2 12w6v2's in a sealed box now. Never heard them ported and i still have that Avalanche 15 brand new sitting here.
Decisions... 2 12w6v2's sealed or ported.. Never heard them ported but im sure they sound great. JL recommends 1.5 tuned to 32hz for each 12w6v2. glasswolf do you have any suggestions as what to tune to the box and size for the best results
Last thing is i will be upgrading to a 200A alternator from excessiveamperage but i also own a batcap 800 stereo battery and a orion mbr 70 battery regulator. Will it be necessary to use these 2 even after the HO alternator upgrade ? If so should i wire the batcap with the crossfire amp only. Thanks
well the pdf says 1.5 cu ft tuned to 32hz for the 12w6v2 ported. I also have a 1 farad rockford cap from like 3 years ago that i could use also. I dont listen to music with the car off by the way so should i still use my batcap 800 battery and the mbr70 ? what about the 1 farad cap ? thanks
capacitors don't help anything really. if you don't run the system with the car off, the second battery and isolator won't do much to help either
the JL specs sound good. remember 1.5cu ft is actual *air* space in teh box, which means you have to add the displacement of the sub and the volume of the port to that box when figuring dimensions based on volume of air.
