Thursday, July 14, 2005 - 10:48 GMT 9917 they are both really well built subs. DD probably makes the "best" subs out of the 2 but the 9917 is 1400 i think and the XXX from re direct is like 459.

Thursday, July 14, 2005 - 14:27 GMT Yeah, but also... 2 totally different subs. The x.x.x is an sq sub, and we all know what DD is.:-) lol

Thursday, July 14, 2005 - 15:49 GMT taylor's got this one right. the DD is an SPL sub. the XXX is a long throw SQL sub. if you want to compare, look at the DD and RE's MT, not the XXX. then at least both are in the same genre

Thursday, July 14, 2005 - 20:14 GMT if you want an SQL sub why dont you go with the DD 9500 or 9100 series, i know they are still made for SPL but the SQ is good too, use should consider the 9512F or 15

Thursday, July 14, 2005 - 22:55 GMT the ID is probably better for SQ, although with less output than the XXX. Keep in mind though at that level you're going to depend a lot on install, power, and enclosure type, and not just the sub choice itself. both are excellent subs
