Bronze Member Username: HurleyblinkPost Number: 46 Registered: Mar-05 | Where is the cheapest place to get two kicker comp vr dual 2ohm subs?? |
Bronze Member Username: TboltCollipark, GA Post Number: 95 Registered: Dec-04 | Internet. LOL. http://www.electronicgiant.net/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=cvr&o sCsid=8d70bfba017fabf029880bc1331a5ecc One of the cheaper places. |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 21 Registered: Jun-05 | ohm will depend on how you wire them cant tell you the cheapest place but i paid $320 canadian fro 12"cvr 800 watts-400 rms |
Bronze Member Username: HurleyblinkPost Number: 47 Registered: Mar-05 | no sh*it ohm will depend how i wire them i want the dual 2ohm model so i can wire two of them and get a 2ohm load. instead of getting two 4ohm models where i can only get a 4 ohm load out of it. |
Bronze Member Username: HurleyblinkPost Number: 48 Registered: Mar-05 | lol sorry guy didnt mean to sound so harsh |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 25 Registered: Jun-05 | two 4ohms in seris will be 2ohmswill it not! |
Bronze Member Username: TboltCollipark, GA Post Number: 97 Registered: Dec-04 | two 2 ohm dvc subs wired in series/parallel will get you 2 ohms two 4 ohm dvc subs wired in series/parallel will get you 4 ohms |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 28 Registered: Jun-05 | well when i hooked up two 4ohm cvr in seris i got 2ohms check with a ohms meter |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 29 Registered: Jun-05 | every time you hook up another 4ohms sub it divids it by 2. tried it my self dual voice coil i should mention |
Silver Member Username: Iowahawks19Post Number: 217 Registered: Jun-05 | noo when you hook 2 DVC 4ohm you either get a 1ohm load or a 4ohm load when you wire 2 DVC 2ohm you get a 4ohm load, 2ohm load and somthing else i believe |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 32 Registered: Jun-05 | here is what i mean go to this web page it will show you http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 33 Registered: Jun-05 | i learnd this from this site and got the web page from here good site learning lots ps.dont want to take the credit lol |
Bronze Member Username: TboltCollipark, GA Post Number: 100 Registered: Dec-04 | which configuration are you talking about |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 35 Registered: Jun-05 | the one that would work if you want to + or - ohms to get what you want if you had only one sub then you would need a 2 ohms sub make sence? |
Silver Member Username: Iowahawks19Post Number: 221 Registered: Jun-05 | i still think 2 dvc 4ohm subs either make a 1ohm load or a 4ohm load, but i could be wrong |
Silver Member Username: TboltCollipark, GA Post Number: 101 Registered: Dec-04 | Is it this one http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/wiring/index.html#1dvcs |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 37 Registered: Jun-05 | check out that site mike i had 4 12s to play with and a ohms meter and tried them to see and 2 in direct mold was .5 and looped at 2 ohms even less when all hooked up, the diagram in ther is a little wrong it should be a 2 channle amp to be croect |
Silver Member Username: Mike_anthesCanton, SD USA Post Number: 138 Registered: Aug-04 | hey mike...i believe if u wired 2 dvc 4 ohms subs in a parallel you would get 1 ohm...if you wired it in a series you get 16 ohms...hey guys this site is pretty cool... http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 39 Registered: Jun-05 | thats all good for old school but i am talking dual voice coils not single voice coil |
Silver Member Username: TboltCollipark, GA Post Number: 102 Registered: Dec-04 | 16 ohm sub. lol You could wire it in a straight series like that, but no amp will support that kind of resistance. So you have a hybrid of series and parallel connections so that the sub can be wired at 4 ohms. |
Bronze Member Username: KickerSlave lake, Alberta Canada Post Number: 40 Registered: Jun-05 | which is what your site is! |
Anonymous | i was wondering what would be better subs to get between audiobahn and kicker |
Silver Member Username: Iowahawks19Post Number: 222 Registered: Jun-05 | kicker deffinately |
Bronze Member Username: LettoMilwaukee, WI Post Number: 64 Registered: Jun-05 | Ok, wiring. 2 DVC Subs (they are on that site) Series/Parallel will give you the ohms of the voice coils. Parallel/Parallel will give you 1/4 the ohms of the voice coils. Therefore 2 DVC: 4 Ohm will either be wired to 4 ohms or 1 ohm. 2 Ohm will either be wired to 2 ohms or .5 ohms. |
New member Username: Gibson5469Post Number: 3 Registered: Jul-05 | If you wire two 4 ohm single voice coil subs in series you get 8 ohms, and in parallel you get 2 ohms. The equation of resistance is as follows Series: R1+R2=Total resistance... Parallel:R1xR2/R1+R2= Total Resistance |
New member Username: Gibson5469Post Number: 4 Registered: Jul-05 | dont know how to edit a post,,,, for more than two loads in a parallel circuit: the resistance formula is 1/(1/R1) + (1/R2) + (1/R3).... |
