Here we go... I've been looking at subs + amps + head units for awhile and the only thing i have accomplished is to confuse myself even more than when i started. I have a 05 honda civic ex and i'm leaning towards going for an all alpine show. The only thing i am certain of is that i want to use an alpine cda-9855 for the head unit. As far as subs go ive been looking at the 12 and 10 inch Type Rs. They each have two different types 2+2ohms(swr-1222) and 4ohm(swr-1242). 10"s are not out of the question for i know they give u better sq but u sacrifice loudness. As for an amp this is where i give up. I've looked at the Alpine V12 Digital Mono Amplifier (MRD-M605) and the mdr-301. But i dunno which is better for the system the 605 sounds like its complicated to use and how would i set it up to power both subs being that it is a single channel amp ? i think im going crazy
You'd wire the subs together and then to the mono channel. Although, most mono block amps do have 2 seperte sets of terminals though, so you can wire two subs to it. It's still one channel, just with two sets of terminals.
