Could my amp not work bridged becuase i used 8 guage wire to hook it up to the power, instead of 4 guage.

It will still work. The gauge has nothing to do with your amp not working or not. You won't be able to draw as many amps through the 8 guage wire, and could have problems in the future, but the amp will still work.

do you have any idea why it wont work? I bridged it, i hooked my subs up parallel, and then from the one sub straight to the amp. all connections are good. my subs are 4 ohm, but i read that when they are ran parallel they become 2 ohm. could it possibly be because my amp is not 2 ohm stable??? I have 2 audiobahn subs that are 300 watts rms and an xplod xm-2200 gtx amp, 1200 watts max and its 200 watts rms/channel, bridged it puts out 500 watts. any ideas?

The amp may not be stable at 2 ohms bridged, and is shutting down.
