Bronze Member Username: 02tacoSville, Ga USA Post Number: 17 Registered: May-05 | first question, has anyone ever heard of any speakers called street rage?? i've been told it was like a sub company of memphis, i don't know, but are they worth 50 bucks?? and the other question i figured it out a little while earlier, it was about my screen and cd player. also, are two pioneer ts-w306 12's worth 200?? what kind of amp should i use? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2889 Registered: Jun-04 | ive never heard og street rage so i cant tell you how good they are but if they are a sub division of memphis id say compare them to memphis's higher than low lines if it doesnt measure up dont buy it. Id say the pioneers are not worth the 200 bucks before id see you pay that for them id have you get an image dynamics subwoofer an idmax depending on your amplifier power |
Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 2230 Registered: Jan-05 | I'm not much help either... I've never heard of them, and I actually don't know much about Pioneer. I'm sure there not bad, but I'm sure we could get something just as good/better for the same price. |
Bronze Member Username: 02tacoSville, Ga USA Post Number: 19 Registered: May-05 | ok, well what do you think of the orion H212.2 and an orion 1200d?? |
Bronze Member Username: 02tacoSville, Ga USA Post Number: 20 Registered: May-05 | i konw that's gonna be a little expensive, so what would you guys recommend for 350? 1 speaker, i want to build the enclosure and and amp?? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2893 Registered: Jun-04 | they way the talk is on the board the orion is a good amp but ive specifically heard about the g4 orion amp ask about that it may be one youll want because of features possibly....i think james knows about them ask him |
Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 2231 Registered: Jan-05 | What kind of sound are you looking for, and thats $350 just for the sub, not including amp right? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2896 Registered: Jun-04 | go with a good amp and the id max 12 from what i hear you definately wont be disappointed i have a link to get the idmax cheap if your intrested |
Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 2232 Registered: Jan-05 | Sean, I'm pretty sure the G4's are supposed to be hard to get you're hands on... they stopped making them or something like that. |
Bronze Member Username: 02tacoSville, Ga USA Post Number: 21 Registered: May-05 | well i want something clean but loud, i love my music loud and distortion free. right now I have a 10" L7 and wish i would have never bought it, it's just pure bass, i like it a little sharper than the l7. i've got a rockford p300.1 pushing it, i can keep that, and planet audio components, that department is fine, i just can't seem to find a great sub. yeah 350, i can do a sub for 200-350. |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3482 Registered: Dec-04 | if you have access to ebay look into the orion 250g4 it is a great amp. if you get 1-dual 2ohm sub and run this amp at 1ohm it will produce 800 watts at 12 volts. I have run many high end amps and this amp really shines with the best of them. if you look around you should be able to find one on ebay for around $250-$300 shipped I paid $300 for a brand new one. They retailed for $900 when they first came out. |
Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 2233 Registered: Jan-05 | Like Sean is saying... the ID is supposed to be really great for sq, don't know how the spl will stack up to the spl of the l7 though. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2897 Registered: Jun-04 | the idmax is your sub then trust me I checked on the orion g4 and its not enough power anyway another amp from orion possibly |
Bronze Member Username: 02tacoSville, Ga USA Post Number: 22 Registered: May-05 | ok so say, a idmax 12" and a mono channel amp pushing at least say 1000 watts?? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2898 Registered: Jun-04 | maybe this amp from orion but i didnt check the prices for the cheapest mtx may be another choice but i think the the orion may have more options but the mtx has 24 db per octave crossovers in it |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2900 Registered: Jun-04 | sorry forgot the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18796%26item%3D5781880881 %26 |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2901 Registered: Jun-04 | nah from what jon says you can go as little as 600 rms but 800 rms is all you need for one |
Bronze Member Username: 02tacoSville, Ga USA Post Number: 23 Registered: May-05 | ok http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18797%26item%3D5783322371 %26%26 that amp and http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18803%26item%3D5784274923 %26%26 this sub?? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2902 Registered: Jun-04 | that amp is peak power its not enough but that sub is the id max 12 i was mentioning. |
Bronze Member Username: 02tacoSville, Ga USA Post Number: 24 Registered: May-05 | ok, so i'll find something similar, but that is the sub, cool. thank you and i apologize to you all for the first post i made earlier, kinda rude wasn't it?? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2903 Registered: Jun-04 | heres a good amp to watch 500 rms 12.6 volts 750 14.4 volts http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=64573%26item%3D5783123606 %26 |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3483 Registered: Dec-04 | the orion 250g4 does 800 watts at 12volts at 1ohm mono how is that not enough power to run a IDMAX? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2904 Registered: Jun-04 | ebay showed 400 rms thats why i said that james |
Bronze Member Username: 02tacoSville, Ga USA Post Number: 25 Registered: May-05 | i'll let you guys knowhow it turns out but for now i gotta hit the sack and wake up at 4 in the morning, thanks for everything |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2905 Registered: Jun-04 | maybe i looked at the wrong one these ebay guys have all kinds of key phrases to make you look at them |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2906 Registered: Jun-04 | you welcome |
Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 2234 Registered: Jan-05 | If you can, I'd get the G4 with the ID12... that will be a slamming system! |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2909 Registered: Jun-04 | i agree but the amp puts out the 800 james claimed at 1 ohm im not sure about the 2 ohm load |
Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 2237 Registered: Jan-05 | Hmmm, true. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2911 Registered: Jun-04 | he can get the image dynamic id max 12 here for 279 shipped in his choice of dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm voice coil in the case of the g4 orion he would want the dual 2 ohm version http://www.carmedia1.com/ click car audio and image dynamics for the idmax 12 |
Gold Member Username: Taylor17Kopperl, Texas Post Number: 2242 Registered: Jan-05 | There! Perfect... Sean's always looking out for people.:-) lol |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3491 Registered: Dec-04 | thats exactly what I was thinking Sean. The dual 2ohm IDmax with the 250g4 running 1ohm will really make that sub move. The only problem I think he would run into with that set-up is if he went ported I think thats too much power for that sub unless its in a small sealed enclosure. The specs on the Orion 250g4 are as follows 2x50 @ 4ohms(stereo) 2x100 @ 2ohms stereo 2x200 @ 1ohm stereo 2x400 @ 1/2 ohm stereo 200x1 @ 4ohms mono 400x 1 @ 2ohms mono 800 x 1 at 1ohm mono now those are all at 12 volts so in a car its more like 950-1000 watts depending on the electrical system I know I am getting around 1000 but I have upgraded my electrical system also. The Orion was classified as a cheater amp because you could be running two of them in competition and be in the under 300 watt class but really be running close to 2000 watts. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2917 Registered: Jun-04 | to me the simple fix would be back off the amplifier a little bit or try another amp altogether |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2919 Registered: Jun-04 | according to this guy james he tested the amp and it puts out 800 rms at 14.4 so he will be fine with that amp and sub combo http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18796%26item%3D5783345137 %26%26 |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2920 Registered: Jun-04 | also heres another link that shows two 30 amp fuses in it but i thought i heard you guys talking about having different fuse sizes depending ohn how you wire it up but at 60 amps times 14.4 you hit 864 watts at full efficiency but no amp is 100 percent efficient so i assume there is a change in fuses the way were going to be hooking this amp up |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2921 Registered: Jun-04 | heres that link i forgot to add it http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18796%26item%3D5784292817 %26%26 |
Gold Member Username: James1115Wilton, Ct Post Number: 3504 Registered: Dec-04 | yes sean depending on which input plugs you use depends on the fuse's in the amp. If you are running the amp in stereo mode at 2ohms or above they recomend the 8guage input plugs with the 2-30amp fuses. If you run it mono under 2ohms or stereo under 2ohms they have a 4guage plug and you swap out the two 30amp fuses for the 40 amp fuses this is the way I am running mine and so should this guy. I have personally tested my amp and at 3000 rpm I am getting 990 watts. I kow Isaac has tested his and found similar results. I am looking at my manual right now and it says 800 watts x1 @ 1 ohm at 12 volts. I know these guys on ebay say all sorts of different stuff but most of the time they just cut and paste off of someone elses auction so it doesnt really mean much. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2950 Registered: Jun-04 | Wow James that comes out to about 86 percent efficiency very nice man. How did they do that with a class A/B amp? |
