Up for grabs is 1 Orion HCCA 225G4 2 channel competition amplifier. Amp is in perfect working condition and is flawless. Anyone that is looking at this knows how RARE this amp is and how powerfull and underated these are. The HCCA G4 series amps are known as cheater amps. When they're rated, they are only fed 12 volts of power, which the amp will put out 400 watts at. When your car juices a good 14+ volts to this amp, it'll produce more power-500 to 600 watts. When you enter a competition you can enter in 400 watt class and below for example because of the ratings, and you're technically producing up to 600 watts. You're cheating. Hence the term "cheater amp".

Renowned for their exceptional sound quality and enormous output capability, the HCCA line remains the champion on the competition circuit today. After a decade of trophies and titles, the G5 series continues the legacy which set the line in motion. Sound quality and raw power; the ORION way. The ORION proprietary power to run ultra low impedance loads. Our complimentary bipolar output section, derived from high-end home audio, offers second to none sound quality performance making HCCA amplifiers the perfect balance between fidelity and power.

HCCA 225G4 is a 2 Channel with built-in fully variable high-pass, or low- pass or bandpass crossover with INTELLi Q. Equipped with remote gain capability , the HCCA 225G4 is capable or 3, 2, or 1 channel operation with a maximum power capability of 400 watts into 1 ohm mono.

SPECS:

POWER OUTPUT
2 x 25 @ 4 Ohm
2 x 50 @ 2 Ohm
2 x 100 @ 1 Ohm
2 x 200 @ .5 Ohm
1 x 100 @ 4 Ohm
1 x 200 @ 2 Ohm
1 x 400 @ 1 Ohm

Please note that the HCCA amps are very conservatively under-rated for IASCA competition. They weren't known as the "CHEATER" amps for nothing.

Features

Variable Low-pass 45Hz to 5kHz
Vvariable high-pass with INTELLi Q 10Hz to 10kHz
10dB of boost with INTELLi Q
Remote gain capable
selectable AUX out
Dimensions 12" x 10.25" x 2.25" (305mm x 260mm x 57mm)

the reason the were labeled cheater amps is b/c of their rating @ 4ohms in stereo. The 225 is rated for 25watts x 2 @4ohms.....so it is classified as a "50 watt amp" not a "400 watt amp"......then it pumps ~500 watts with 13.8+. It's more of a cheater amp than i thought .

You could run three of them in the 0-151 power class .....1500+ ...and more at lower/unrecommended impedences.

I have a 94 honda whith custom fiberglass enclosure/amp racks. the system was there when i bought the car. its powered by an xplod head, 1 orion 2100 hcca pushin one 12" JL audio w7, and a pair of orion 225 hcca's one powering a set of MBQuart components up front and another powering a set of MBQuart 6x9's in the rear. I am having a couple of problems and am looking for some help. #1 when the sub hits on some tones it sounds almost like its bottoming out or maybe the box might be too big? #2 I need some wiring diagrams, or some help about where to get them? #3 I recently blew one of the 50 amp fuses inside the 2100 and wondering if this is common and/or how to fix it? thanx for any help!
