hey guys, ive been trying to hook up my rear speakers to an amp, but when i do, i get no sound out of the speakers. speakers work, cuzz as soon as i hook them back up the the head unit they play. i know its not the amp, or the connections, cuzz subs work on it, and it doesn help to change the high full or low on the amps filter. i really dont know what to do, i tried this on the other head unit i had (it got stolen, damm those thiefs) and it worked, so i dont know what the problem is. the only thing i can think of is that my other hd had front rear, and sub pre amp outputs, and this one only has one (supposedly rear, but its only been used for subs). oh yeah, the one im usind now is a jvc kd-g300.
Some cars use the (- negative) wire of the speaker and run it in tandem with the stereo grounding (HU). Check to see if this is your case. Usually these types of circuitries have their own plugs and are a mess to deal with.
Some GM's and Chrysler models are notorious for this "EL-CHEAPO" setup.
