I just got myself a SW8122.4 Eclipse Sub and RF T5002 amp. I am certain both work well. But when i hooked it all up... things definitely were NOT working right. When i had it bridged (putting roughly 1008 watts rms to the sub) it was def too much power and I could see that there was overexcursion (the sub was gettin sucked in really deep and staying there). So i decided to hook it up to just one channel and run my sony xplod to my other channel. To my dismay, there was barely any bass and my xplod was just making a popping noise (i assume because it is an inferior sub). Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me what I should do to fix my system. If there are any specific settings on my amp I should use.. ( i tried a bunch). Any advice would be appreciated. Oh i have a 200a fuse by the battery and a 100a fuse in the amp and i am running a zero gauge wire kit. The power light definitely came on to the amp so I dont think power is the problem... maybe my av cable?
The amp puts out roughly 1000 watts rms bridged.. it got tested back at the rf place. Its a super powerful amp that is worth trying. Anyway, i belive my sub is a SVC 4 ohm. I opted for that over the DVC 4ohm+4ohm
Sigh, no i did not... ok, listen... trust me it pushes... i read the sheet that came with the amp... enough bashing of the amp... is there any way to help with my problem?
Trust me... I'm not bashing that amp! I love RF, and click on my name and you'll see what I'm running. I'm just saying what the amps specs say. What is the rms rating on that sub, and I wouldn't recomend running 2 different subs. Also what tipe of box is it in?
its inside a dual 12in eclosure. Each sub is isolated from the other... and yea, i disconnected the xplod, i was thinking it could be a problem because i am only using the right channel on the amp now, but i could just be retarded, the rms rating on the sub is 500 with a 1000 watt peak
