I have aa orion 900 2-channel amplifier. I have two 12 inch Virtual Tech rip hammers. I ran this combination for a year with 4 gauge wire coming from the battery to the amp and the speakers bridged into the amp. I recently upgraded to 2 gauge wire to the back then turns into 4 gauge to go into the amp. The amp blew up and every time i have it fixed it blows again. the speakers are single voice coil at 4 ohms apiece and the amp i believe is 4 ohms. What is the problem, how should it be wired?
you can't bridge a stereo amp and run two 4 Ohm drivers in parallel on it. that's a 2 Ohm load on a bridged amp, so the amp sees 1 Ohm. the amp is overloaded.
