I know there are hundreds of radios out there, but I am looking for one that fits these parameters;

1. above average FM tuner regarding multipath
2. clock that is always visable
3. manual bass/treble & volume controls (if that is possible)
4. MP3 compatable
5. medium power
6. no remote control
7. no light show on the display

Or should I of asked, what should I stay away from?
This is just being used with 4 5 1/4" speakers, no outboard amp. Thanks in advance.

I should add, how are the 'Boss' units?

They're terrible, stay away from them. What type of budget do have?

Why do you say that? Budget really isn't the issue. I don't 'live' in my car, so I don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars for a radio I use 30 minutes a day!
That 3130 I can get for $80. Ones (other brands) in stores I see start at $130

Ah, ebay would be the best place to get a new(used) headunit. The Boss won't even last you a year before it fails, and their sound is extremely bad in comparison to other headunits. An Alpine or Eclipse headunit would probably be the way to go...

After a bit of research, I found these possible units within your budget:
Panasonic CQ-C1300U or CQ-DP383U
Alpine 9807 (ebay)
Clarion DB336MP or DB345MP (ebay)

I don't want to deal with eBay. I assume you had a problem with a BOSS unit? If so, that doesn't mean all of them are bad. Can you explain why you don't like them?
I was also looking at the Pioneer 3700 for $120. Any input on this?

Others with experiance with BOSS?

The Pioneer would be an excellent choice.

Boss...where to begin...they use cheap paint on the faceplate that wears off fast. The circuitry is poorly laid out and looks as if a child did it. They use all the cheapest parts to make a cheaper unit. Just to get an example of their reliability, search ebay(or anywhere else) for a used-not new-Boss unit in good working condition. Then, compare how many working units there are to other brand's used working units. I think you'll see the difference.

Any difference between the tuner in the Pioneer and the Alpine? Multupath is a issue.
