Silver Member Username: Loc_outPost Number: 188 Registered: Feb-05 | What about 4 15' atlas? |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2020 Registered: Jun-04 | i got a box size for you if you want punchy bass for one of those pyramid 1895us speakers 2.75 cf before displacements ported to 44 hz will do well but you will need to have some type of filter on them so a 5.1 cf box with fiberfill boosting them to 6.5 cf. for two of them would do very nice. There you go two cheap 18s with punchy bass 500 rms each speaker....ive actually thought bout trying one of these out |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2021 Registered: Jun-04 | opps i misquoted you dont want 5.1 cf boosted to 6.5 cf with fiberfill you would want prob about 5.88 cf total before the sub and port are added so you could skip the fiberfill |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2023 Registered: Jun-04 | 5.88 for two 18's i meant |
duffdog Unregistered guest | be careful with them 18's-- the reason that you dont see too many people with them is because they do not function the same as smaller speakers. It takes a very long distance for 18's to develop the waveshape outside the cab of the car. Ever notice how far 18's at a concert throw--that means that closer up, or inside your car they aint as loud. But down the block they are loud. If you serious about cheap 18's, these are actually nice for their price, and arent total junk. just google this part number 411-WF18PRO thats about the best i can think of |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2026 Registered: Jun-04 | heres a link to some if anyone is intrested in the ones he mentioned http://www.cheaplights.com/catalog/01_info.php?sec=411 |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2027 Registered: Jun-04 | ive listened to an 18 inch crunch pro years ago in car compared to a 12 in that same car and there is just nothing like the impact an 18 makes inside the car but you have to give them large boxes to do them right for instance the pyramid 1895 us needs 6.29 cf sealed if you want good sq and 8 cf. ported to 32 hz |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2028 Registered: Jun-04 | lol its not a big brand name i no but for the price they would make someone happy esp an 18. pyramid isnt great but its not totally crappy either i started out with pyramid when i first got into car audio |
Gold Member Username: InvainMichigan United States Post Number: 2612 Registered: Aug-04 | Ok, my very first ever system was pyramid, and I've got to say sean, their speakers and subs are total crap. C'mon man, I dare you to try and find a cheaper made sub, besides funky pups. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 2045 Registered: Jun-04 | well joe pyramid subs are cheap to buy and not all of their line is created equal but choose the right ones and put them in the right box they will suprise you. I never saw one of these funky pups altho i heard people talk bout them on here jokin amd im sure their crap from the way people talk but thump is the worst ive seen quality wise and even a pair of their 15s suprised me in the right box. |
