You can always order more(ED sells it by the sq foot on their site), http://www.edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=9&pid=7&cur=USD but might be able to save a bit on shipping with a higher volume order. The v1 is on backorder, but the v1se(what I used) http://www.edesignaudio.com/product.php?cid=10&pid=25&cur=USD seems to be available and probably would knock out vibrations better than 2 layers of the v1. Also you might want to utilize some thick weather stripping(1/2" foam) if you're getting rattles where plastic panels contact metal. I did the eDead/weather stripping thing and now have zero rattles in the Explorer. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/846000-846999/846007_14_full.j pg I've got some hair pad(carpet padding) in there too which cut down on road noise and probably helped with the rattles as well. I picked up the weather stripping(1/2" thick x 3/4" wide)at Home Depot btw, for like $3.50 per 17 ft roll. I used two. -Fishy |

Did you just put it on the floor or in the doors as well? Do you have more pictures? I am planning on doing my explorer in the next couple of weeks with edead v1 (i have ordered 120sq ft. off ebay). I'd love any ideas/insight. |

I may run into problems with the hairpad though, as I have a leaky left rear window and will be getting some water in my doors as well. From what I hear that pad will mildew if it gets wet. I kept it a couple inches off the bottom of the doors, but we'll have to wait and see. If things get stinky some of that stuff may have to come out. Oh and I guess I lied when I said "no rattles". From the outside, the rear window(the hinged one) as well as the windshield wiper rattle pretty bad, but you can't hear it from the inside unless you crank it up to a point where its nearly unbearable. I still want to get rid of it, but haven't figured out how to handle the rear window. Maybe more sound deadening of the rear roof, rear hatch and latch, or maybe thicker/tighter weather stripping around the window. I did the entire truck with sound deadening including the floor. I'm not sure how effective dampening the floor was in reducing rattles, but it probably helped with road noise. I used the foam weather stripping wherever the the plastic panels came in contact with metal. They used to rattle pretty bad. Here's all the pics I've taken so far: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/846007/1 You can see a couple places where I used the foam including the lil slotted plates you shove those plastic plugs in to hold the skin tight. -Fishy |
