Ok im looking at the ABP102T audiobahn bandbox: 2 10' subs. Powerhandling 100-600 watts RMS. 1200 max power. What kinda amplifier would i need to power it to produce good bass. On crutchfield it has the audiobahn A8000T which is 800 x 1 @ 2 ohms would that be enough to power it?
what configuration are the subs connecected in, and what impedence will they be showing to the amplifier? I'm guessing it would be a 4 ohm load. in that case you will need something that will give out 600 watts rms
this is all i can find about it: DUAL ANGLE 10" TUNED BANDPASS SYSTEM High Quality MDF Construction Black Suppleather Covering 3/8" Plexiglass Window Blue Interior Neon Lighting Mirrored Interior Panels Dual 12" PHAT 2" Foam Surround, Non-Pressed KM3(tm) Coated Cone Subwoofers 50 oz. Strontium Magnet 2" 4 Layer ASV Voice Coil Bumped Back Plate Extended & Vented Pole Piece Gold Binding Post Terminals Power Handling: 600 Watts RMS Sensitivity: 103dB Frequency Response: 32Hz - 150Hz Impedance: 4 Ohm Stereo Dimensions: 13"(H) x 29.5"(W) x 16.75"(D)
Bad choice of subs IMO, those manufacturers build those bandpass boxes for pure SPL, they just don't sound good at all no matter who you buy it from.
Are you flexible on the subs? If so, the amp you mentioned is damn good for the price, but you can't use it in a 2 ohm mono load. If you had something like dual 4 ohm VC woofers, or single 2 ohm, you'd be set.
