real quick i have a crappy amp and just wanted to run my extra sub in my house. can i use a transformer that drops voltage down to like 13v and what would the amperage have to be like 600miliamps?
13 volts is ok. you can power an amp with ne where from 11-17 volts all depending on the amp. Most will run 11-14 volts with no problem. A few amps are designed to go to 17 volts though. (for 16v systems)
Lets put it this way. Ive used a 12 transformer (like the ones say for your cordless phone, camcorders ets. ) and it powered a 100rms amp. Lol so if that could run it. Anything bigger shold work
