Bronze Member Username: Sevin7Post Number: 77 Registered: Apr-05 | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- when the amp is mono, and you wire the subs like this: http://www.crutchfieldadvisor.com/learningcenter/car/subwoofers_wiring.html?subs =2&impedance=DVC4x2 how do you get the wires in between the two subs? All the 2 sub boxes with seperate chambers have an input for each sub, do you have to drill a small whole for the wire to go inbetween the subs? Another thing, this amp: http://sonicelectronix.com/item_1745.html# it says its a mono amp, says it puts out 1200rms x1 channel. But in the pictures it has hookup for 2 speakers, alot of mono amps have this, WHY? i want 2 hook up to subs to this amp, both dual 4 ohm voice coils, and if i wire them right it presents a 1 ohm load. BUT that would require wiring the subs in paralel. But that amp has 2 sub out puts, so would i want to use an output for each sub, or no, beucase that wouldnt make a 1 ohm load? this crap is complicated! |

For DVCs, open the box and wire the voice coils either in series (pos to neg) or parallel (pos to pos and neg to neg). Then using the external connectors, wire those in parallel or series depending on your appication. Lot of the "mono" amps come with 2 pair of terminals (they're the same). It's for connecting multi subs. Without it, you'd have to connect the wires into one terminal. |

But still curious about the mono amps with 2 connectors. I have made a illustration to show my question with the wiring 2 subs to a mono amp: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v434/Sevin7/whichone.jpg |

Bronze Member Username: Sevin7Post Number: 81 Registered: Apr-05 | yes i know to use each as one pair. But i was just making sure that i would receive a 1 ohm load if each pair of connectors had a 2 ohm load. Also is says "us amps" on the "good amp list", that is a good amp right? |
