nom 60 peak 80
i wanna have these get loud and stay clear, will 60-70 do the job, i know someone said he saw one set of these blown cause of a little too much power. i was thinking of a arc audio XXK 4050 can i use this and set the gains down a little to minimize the distortion? what should i do. thanks

are you talking about the 6.5" set, b/cthe SLC265 is 100 watts RMS. the 4" set, SLC210, is 60 watts.

that amp will push the SLC265 set fine. it could take some more power, but it would work. that amp would be perfect for the SLC210.

the gains should never be adjusted to "fit" the speaker, gains are used SOLELY to match the output voltage of the Head Unit to the amp.

I think Brian is talking about the older SLC265 that are rated at 60/80 on SpeedSound.
The new model is rated at 100/150 on the Rainbow site.

Could be that SpeedSound is wrong, but it looks like their specs are a cut/paste from Rainbow spec sheet.
But that does look like quite a jump in ratings.

Your good to go!

Plenty of head room, just don't get carried away.
