I am planning on purchasing a pair of CDT CL-51 components to replace the stock front speakers in my ford explorer. I have already replaced the stock deck with a Pioneer Premier DEH-P770MP (4 volt preouts). I am trying to decide which amp to power the speakers with. I have narrowed it down to two different MTX Thunder amps, the 342 at 85W x 2 RMS and the 502 at 125W x 2 RMS. Given that the power rating on the speakers is only 80W, is there any point in buying the 125W amp?
