No power

In a 91 Thunderbird, an after market Aiwa radio that was professionally installed suddenly lost power after 3 years of use. Fuses are not blown. I tried replacing with a new radio, but it has no power either. When replacing the radio I noticed that off the car harness, the orange/white and blue wires are not connected to anything (They werent even capped-bare wire). I also noticed that the blue wire from the adapter harness (with an in-line fuse) is connected to the blue/white on the car. I dont know if this is incorrect because it did work fine before. It seems the problem lies somewhere else, but the only thing I know to check is the fuses. Any thoughts? Thanks.

check both the fuses at the head unit and at the car's fusebox.
don't match wire colors. they rarely match up. every car uses a different wire color code at teh factory harness.
most radio manufacturers use a pretty standard color scheme.

The fuses on both the head unit and the car are fine.

That's bizarre...maybe you should run some new wire from the battery to the headunit?
