Ok, I know how dumb this is but here's what I did. I had my kenwood mdc-5210 hooked up and running fine. A freind gave me an old amp that I could use for my component speakers. I hooked up the amp and got nothing (turns out that the amp was fried to begin with), I got frustrated and disconnected the live battery wire from the amp. It flopped over and touched the side of the cage that the deck was mounted in and (zap zap)threw some sparks around. Now the deck is completely dead. the fuse in the deck is intact and none of the fuses in the car are blown. I hooked up an old deck to verify that it wasn't some hidden fuse in the car and the old deck worked fine. Am I out $180 or is there something inside the deck that I should check? Please help.
I would suggest that you just take this in to a service center that is factory authorized to repair your unit and get an estimate from them for how much it would cost to repair.
