foxstkr79 Unregistered guest | I have been looking at some amps and I was just wondering if there are any advantages or disadvantages to using 2 amps instead of one. Im thinking about buying 2 amps that do 400w at 4 ohms, because it looks like it would be cheaper. Anyone know of any single amps that do 800x 1 at 4 ohms or at 1 ohm? |

There's already a thread on here reguarding 2 amps vs 1 amp. I think the title was JL 500/1 and JL 1000/1. The ONLY advantage with 2 amps is, if one blows, you still have a backup. |

RayByds Unregistered guest | Are there any advantages to having TWO amps in a 5-channel setup? For example, having ONE 4-channel for fronts and rears, and ONE 1 or 2-channel for a sub instead of just a single 5-channel amp. Also tell me if Im wrong for thinking that manufactures' 5-channel amps are less well-built than their regular 2 and 4-channels. |
