Bronze Member Username: TragedySan Jose, CA Post Number: 46 Registered: Feb-05 | Need advice. I have the choice of running the DLS 8.3 (3-way) Components passive through the DLS crossovers or i can run the DLS 8.2 Components (2-way) active (without the DLS crossovers) straight from the amp and using the amp crossovers. Amp is Zapco. I quesiton which would be better for sound qaulity. The 3-way component run off a 2ch amp with the DLS crossovers or the 2-way components powered active by a 4ch amp. I am limited to two amps and space (one is already for sub) so thus my dilema. Please only give advice if you know the difference personally or are experienced in SQ setups. Here are links if you need the specs... http://dls.se/english/speakers/Iridium82.htm http://dls.se/english/speakers/Iridium83.htm |

If you have limited space for an installation, you're probably better off with the two ways since you can play around with driver angle a bit more. Either will give great results with a good installation. What kind of car/truck is it going into? |
Bronze Member Username: TragedySan Jose, CA Post Number: 49 Registered: Feb-05 | The limited space i talk about is for the amp. i have space to install the 3way components its just i cant power each channel active. i couldnt fit a 6ch amp or a 4+2ch. so my question is would the separate mid-range in the 3way passive setup sound better than just running 2way active. Car is a scion xB. |
