(High Output) systems designed around JL Audio's flagship W7 subwoofers, delivering very high SPL while retaining excellent sound quality. Each is properly sized and tuned to the optimum ported alignment for the12W7, 10W7 and (coming soon) 8W7 and is shipped wired, loaded and ready to install. All models feature our patented (#6,744,902), chamber-coupled port design. The slot-port wraps around the inner enclosure and terminates just above the woofer. This provides the necessary surface area and port length to maximize the performance of the W7's. The recessed mounting baffle also provides protection for the woofer. W7 ProWedge For those who seek the ultimate in sub-bass fidelity, we now offer four ProWedge systems featuring W7 subwoofers. The power of the W7 is harnessed within a compact, sealed enclosure to deliver world-class sub-bass fidelity. These systems have it all: extension, impact, detail and smooth response... at any listening level. The W7 ProWedge systems are finished in high-grade black carpet with a gloss-black laminate front baffle trim featuring engraved "JL Audio" and "W7" logos. Three solid, brushed aluminum rods provide stylish woofer protection. I would go with the pro wedge myself but it all depends on what you want. I am a big fan of SQ over SPL. There is only one problem. Unless you have a JL audio dealer near you that might have one of these enclosures laying around your can't buy them unless you buy the sub with it from JL. So if that is not an option then I guess you are looking at the SS which is a great enclosure just very costly. |

Unregistered guest | I actually have both, first there was the HO. It rattled my acura rl like an earthquake, feels like a massage even in the front seat, my ear rings everytime I turn off the car. It was way overpowering my stock mids and highs. When that one blew, I got the sealed prowedge. Now my music sounds like music. When the bass hits the low notes, I am in awe, it is truly beautiful(versus the avalanche of SPL that HO provides). People still turn their heads when this one is turned all the way up, so don't u worry about that. Another thing to keep in mind is that the HO is HUGE and HEAVY, make sure it fits, and it might slow you down a bit if you're trying to have a fast car. |
Unregistered guest | btw I got the 12w7 in HO for $500, in prowedge for $400, both from local ebayers, so no shipping charges.... |
New member Username: ChenzevyPost Number: 4 Registered: Mar-05 | would a 12w7 in a HO have greater SPL than a MTX 9512 in a sanil shell? these are the 2 setups that im seriously deciding on ive never used a mtx product but i havent heard anyone talk bad about the MTX 9512 in a sanil shell. i guess its got greater spl than the 12w7 in the HO? anyone know? |
