I am looking at investing in a good pair of component speakers (either 2way or 3way) for the front sound stage. My first question before i can even choose a brand of components would be... How to setup? The door has an oversized mounting area where a 7" or 8" component woofer could easily fit. There is really no other room for mounting a mid-range. (http://sjsearch.com/xb/image/ Picture #1) The kick-panel i want to avoid mounting a mid-range there becuase of space issues. (http://sjsearch.com/xb/image/ Picture #2) The only way i see a 3-way system working is if i mounted a mid-range speaker in the dash and mounted the tweeter in the A-Pillar next to it. Would that work... door woofer, dash mid-range and a-pillar tweeter? I guess the tweeter could also be mounted in the upper part of the door or kick panel as well.. what do you guys think?(http://sjsearch.com/xb/image/ Picture #3) (http://sjsearch.com/xb/image/ Picture #4) If this would be a bad sound stage with any of those options i have no problem going with 2-way. If thats the case what tweeter location? I dont want to invest in high end components then get laughed at for just throwing the speakers into wherever they fit. I need your help and suggestions... Thank you. |

Or i could always do some grinding =) |
