Dual voice coils

This is a simple straight question: Can I run a 10'' DVC sub (Pioneer TS-W255DVC) wiring each coil in separate channels of the same amp?, is this advisable?, what are the pros?, what are the cons? thanks a lot in advance.

should work fine.

make sure bridge the RCA inputs so that both channels are identical. also, set the gains carefully so each coil gets the same voltage level. use a meter with RMS voltage to test the output of each side.

i've read somewhere that feeding stereo channels to DVC subs is not a good idea because of the possibility of the left and right channels fighting (cancelling) each other. not sure if this would harm the sub, but it could cause the sub to act unaturally at times. feeding a mono signal through both coils seems like the way to go.
