I have heard both from the same amp JL 1000/1 in their factory built enclosures and the 9500 was no comparison to the w7. companies can claim what they want but I have tested both of them and also heard the same results from others. Is there a big price difference between the two yes there is but it makes the difference in this case. |

JL's W7 line increases subwoofer performance with size, while the MTX does not. The 10" MTX and the 10W7 perform similarly, but the 12W7 and 13W7 outperform the 9500. The JL also retains higher linearity than the MTX does, has higher surface area, and has more linear excursion than MTX once you get into the 12 and 13W7. It all translates into better SQ and SPL out of the driver. |
