alpine cda-7894, requires a 10 ga connection to batter with inline fues....
i'm hooking it up to a 4 channel amp though, any way to shut off the internal amp or do i need to keep it on? what should i do?

you might be able to shut it off. I know on my 9813 I can push the F (function) button and hold it for 3 seconds and scroll through the options and shut the internal amp off but I dont know about that model.
